Rahul Gandhi launched a pointed critique of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday, accusing him of being 'afraid' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to shield his children from alleged corruption charges. Gandhi addressed the allegations during an election rally in Fort Kochi.
The Congress leader suggested that Vijayan has been 'compromised' by corruption, citing the Exalogic case involving illicit financial activities tied to an IT firm owned by Vijayan's daughter. Gandhi also accused Vijayan of sacrificing governance to protect his family and collaborating with right-wing forces, which he claimed contradict the essence of leftist politics.
Gandhi's address further emphasized Congress's commitment to welfare programs if elected to power, vowing initiatives like free women's bus travel, financial support for students, increased pensions, comprehensive health insurance, and interest-free loans. He concluded by expressing his appreciation for Kerala's support and experience as Wayanad's MP.
