Iran Executes PMOI-linked Individuals Amid Rising Tensions

Iran carried out the execution of two men on Saturday, accusing them of having ties to the opposition group, the People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI), and participating in armed incidents, as confirmed by domestic media reports.

This execution follows a recent series of similar cases involving individuals connected to the PMOI. The PMOI acknowledged these executions, criticizing the Iranian government for attempting to conceal its vulnerabilities by targeting political prisoners, particularly PMOI affiliates and supporters. Earlier this week, four other PMOI members faced the same fate, according to the organization's statement.

The two men who faced execution on Saturday had been arrested in January 2024, and their death sentences were reaffirmed in December 2025, the PMOI detailed in their communication.
