Kerala High Court Sets Stage for Suresh Gopi Trial

In a major legal development, the Kerala High Court has dismissed a plea submitted by Union Minister of State, Suresh Gopi, challenging an election petition against him.
The court's decision means that Gopi will now face trial, as the petition, brought by All India Youth Federation leader Binoy A S, proceeds. This petition alleged that Gopi engaged in corrupt practices during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, particularly through the misuse of religious symbols.
Suresh Gopi's victory in Thrissur marked a significant political milestone for the BJP, ending a political drought of over seven decades in Kerala with a resounding lead of 74,686 votes.
