Shashi Tharoor, a prominent Congress leader, has criticized the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala for its heavy reliance on remittances, lotteries, and liquor. He believes this model is outdated and unsustainable. At the heart of his message is the promise of 'Kerala 2.0' under United Democratic Front (UDF) leadership, emphasizing innovative ideas and a business-friendly environment.
In an interview, Tharoor criticized the LDF government's financial management, claiming it struggles to meet salary payments and often resorts to borrowing. He further highlighted the high taxes faced by Kerala's population, stressing that a shift towards new businesses and ventures is necessary for sustainable revenue.
Tharoor dismissed the likelihood of the BJP having any significant impact on the election outcome, reiterating that the real contest is between the LDF and UDF. With the election scheduled for April 9, Tharoor remains hopeful about UDF's strategy and the positive campaign message they intend to deliver.
