The Congress party has issued a show-cause notice to its fifth MLA from Haryana following allegations of cross-voting during recent Rajya Sabha elections. Conducted by Dharampal Malik, chairman of the Disciplinary Action Committee, the notice targets MLA Jarnail Singh among others.

Singh, who denies the allegations, claims he's a disciplined party member and insists the accusations are defamatory. The controversy emerged as Haryana Congress MLA Shalli Chaudhary and others also faced similar allegations, stirring internal discord.

The recent polling for the Rajya Sabha exposed internal rifts, with claims of marked ballot misconduct resulting in invalid votes. BJP's Sanjay Bhatia and Congress candidate Karamvir Singh Boudh won the contested seats amidst growing factionalism within the Congress' Haryana unit.
