KC Tyagi, a founding member of the Janata Dal (United), clarified Wednesday that he abstained from participating in the party's latest membership drive. He emphasized that his decision is not due to any personal discord with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding Rajya Sabha seat allocations.
Having co-founded JD(U) alongside notable leaders like George Fernandes and Sharad Yadav, Tyagi reiterated his historical commitment to the party. He also dispelled rumors about harboring parliamentary ambitions, stating he never pursued a Rajya Sabha seat.
The clarification came amid Kumar's recent Rajya Sabha win, with Tyagi reaffirming his enduring association with Kumar. Shifting focus, Tyagi criticized the Congress party's declining leadership after MP Pradyut Bordoloi defected to the BJP, citing leadership issues within the Congress.
