The Himachal Pradesh budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 will be unveiled in the assembly on March 21, as announced by Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The session's second phase will comprise 13 sittings from March 18 to April 2, following a three-sitting first phase in February.
Critical discussions on the budget estimates are slated for March 23-25, followed by grant demands on March 27-30. Key issues include school transitions to CBSE, infrastructure improvements, and public health upgrades. Altogether, 834 questions have been submitted for legislative scrutiny.
Legislators are set to tackle international issues affecting tourism and essential goods. Pathania emphasized the importance of orderly conduct and raised concerns over cross-voting by lawmakers, noting constitutional actions to uphold democratic integrity.
