In a significant turn of events, the Lok Sabha has revoked the suspension of eight opposition members effective immediately. The decision came after Congress leader K Suresh requested the House to address the matter.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized the importance of establishing a 'Laxman Rekha' for ensuring smooth proceedings, a sentiment concurred by both the treasury and opposition benches. Speaker Om Birla highlighted the necessity of maintaining decorum, specifically advising against the display of placards, posters, or any AI-generated images within Parliament.
The motion, initiated by Rijiju, sought to lift the suspension of seven Congress MPs and one CPI-M member. This proposition was favorably received, passing through a voice vote. Originally suspended on February 3 for disruptive actions, these MPs were reinstated before the conclusion of the ongoing Budget session.
