India Prioritizes Diaspora Safety Amid West Asia Crisis

The escalating military conflict in West Asia has prompted the Indian government to focus on the safety of approximately one crore Indian diaspora residing in the Gulf region. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal announced Wednesday that two Indians were killed, and one remains missing after their merchant vessel was attacked.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has actively engaged with leaders from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, and Israel to ensure the welfare of Indian citizens. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has also maintained regular communication with his counterparts in these nations, as well as with Iran.

India's missions across the region have been issuing advisories, aiding injured nationals, and assisting stranded Indians in returning home. The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation, reinforcing the priority to secure the safety and welfare of the Indian diaspora in the conflicting region.
