Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and dedicate several significant development projects, valued at approximately Rs 5,650 crore, in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. These initiatives cover diverse sectors including infrastructure and transportation, promising to enhance regional growth and connectivity.
Additionally, Modi is scheduled to address an NDA rally, marking the political undertone of his visit. In a social media post, he remarked on the growing popularity of the NDA, attributing it to dissatisfaction with the ruling DMK's governance. Further, Modi announced the Union Cabinet's decision to declare Madurai Airport as an International Airport, aiming to enhance tourism and economic prospects in southern Tamil Nadu.
The development projects comprise vital infrastructural advancements such as the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited's City Gas Distribution Network and the IOCL Lube Plant. Modi will also inaugurate rural roads, spanning 370 km, under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and introduce new rail services, thereby improving connectivity and economic growth across the region.
