Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has called for a parliamentary discussion on India's foreign policy concerning the ongoing conflict in West Asia. He accused the government of succumbing to US pressure while addressing reporters outside the Lok Sabha on Monday.
Yadav emphasized the urgent need for clarity, citing the large Indian diaspora in Gulf countries and the journalists stranded there after accompanying Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel. He criticized India's stance, suggesting it contradicts the nation's Atmanirbhar ambitions by adhering to US mandates regarding oil purchases.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister asserted that the government has 'auctioned' its foreign policy and called for a comprehensive debate to dissect India's strategic position amid geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
