DMDK Joins DMK-Led Alliance, Boosting Tamil Nadu Election Dynamism
DMDK, founded by the late actor Vijayakanth, joined the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance ahead of Tamil Nadu's elections. This alliance aims to promote the 'Dravidian model' of governance. DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth sealed the pact with DMK President M K Stalin at Anna Arivalayam.

In a significant political shift, DMDK, established by the late actor Vijayakanth, has allied with the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance. The formal agreement was signed at the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam.
The move, finalized by DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth and DMK President M K Stalin, aims to strengthen efforts to uphold the 'Dravidian model' of governance. 'It brings me immense joy,' said Stalin, expressing his satisfaction with DMDK's decision.
DMDK previously aligned with TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam in the 2021 polls and the AIADMK-led alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As the parties join forces, a seat-sharing committee is underway to finalize election strategies.
