M A Baby, General Secretary of the CPI(M), announced that the party plans to organize a 'Delhi March' protest on March 24. The demonstration in the national capital aims to oppose the labor codes, the MGNREGA replacement, and other policies they describe as 'anti-people' enacted by the NDA government at the Centre.
In preparation for the march, the CPI(M) will engage in extensive campaigning across northern states. Their goal is to mobilize various social sections by addressing critical livelihood issues through state-level programs and processions called 'Jathas'.
Criticizing the union government, Baby questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's handling of trade agreements and crude oil purchasing policies. He accused the current leadership of undermining India's sovereignty, citing restrictions reportedly imposed by former US President Donald Trump on India's oil purchases.
