Political Shift: Arvind Khanna Joins Shiromani Akali Dal

In a surprising political realignment, Arvind Khanna, a former vice-president of the Punjab BJP, has joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). The announcement came during a meeting in Sangrur on Sunday, attended by SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Khanna, once a Congress MLA, was welcomed by Badal into the SAD fold after an unsuccessful stint with the BJP. His political journey includes two terms as an MLA, from Sangrur in 2002 and Dhuri in 2012, both on Congress tickets.

Despite running in the 2022 Assembly election and 2024 Lok Sabha polls under the BJP banner, Khanna did not secure victories. His recent move to SAD signals a shift in alignment, potentially impacting regional political dynamics.
