Bangladesh is extending invitations to several regional leaders for the inauguration of its next Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, scheduled for February 17. Sources suggest Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend due to existing commitments with French President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai on that date.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Rahman, has begun notifying countries across the region about this significant event. While formal invitations are yet to be announced, New Delhi is expected to dispatch a senior representative to represent India at the ceremony.
In a recent conversation, Modi congratulated Rahman on his electoral triumph and assured him of India's unwavering support in advancing Bangladesh's progress and prosperity, highlighting the enduring historical and cultural ties between the two neighboring nations.
