In an assertive declaration, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has vowed to confront the city's enduring air and river pollution dilemmas, pointing a finger at the previous AAP government for neglectful policies. In a candid interview with ANI, Gupta emphasized her administration's commitment to implementing a comprehensive, long-term plan to effectively address these issues.

Gupta criticized earlier measures like GRAP and Odd-Even policies as temporary fixes, advocating instead for a holistic approach targeting vehicular emissions, road dust, and ineffective waste management. She underscored that true progress in pollution control requires a shift towards sustainable public transportation and systematic waste processing.

A multipronged strategy is in motion to transform Delhi's public transport framework to zero emissions, with the current number of 3,600 buses expected to more than double by 2028. Gupta also noted significant advancements in road maintenance, refuse management, and sewage treatment—all aimed at delivering tangible, long-term environmental improvements for Delhi.
