British Prime Minister Keir Starmer issued a public apology to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein after controversially appointing Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to Washington, despite Mandelson's ties to the disgraced financier.
Starmer expressed remorse for having trusted Mandelson's claims of minimal acquaintance with Epstein, adding, "I am sorry, sorry for what was done to you."
This apology follows Starmer's dismissal of Mandelson in September, after revelations showed that Mandelson maintained contact with Epstein even after his 2008 conviction for sex offenses. British police are now investigating Mandelson for potential public office misconduct.
