In a fervent outcry, the Congress has accused the Union government of stifling dissent by preventing Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi from concluding his speech in the Lok Sabha. The party demanded to know what Prime Minister Narendra Modi would respond to when a debate had not occurred.

The assertion followed a gathering of Congress floor leaders at the residence of party chief Mallikarjun Kharge. Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, voiced that for three consecutive days, Gandhi was continuously interrupted due to the sensitive issues he raised regarding national security.

As tensions mounted, Ramesh criticized the "insults" aimed at former prime ministers by BJP members and declared that opposition leaders would convene again to formulate a strategy. The Lok Sabha, meanwhile, experienced dramatic moments as opposition MPs protested vehemently ahead of the prime minister's awaited address.
