NCP leader Anand Paranjpe, a close associate of the late Pawar, became overwhelmed with emotion and broke down. Several local leaders and activists of the Nationalist Congress Party, NCP (SP), and the BJP made a beeline to pay their tributes. Ajit Pawar and four other persons on board a chartered aircraft were killed when it crashed on January 28 in Pune district.
