In a decisive move, Kerala Congress (M) has confirmed its allegiance to the Left Democratic Front (LDF), putting an end to speculation of a return to the United Democratic Front (UDF). Party chairman Jose K Mani cited LDF's unwavering support following their ouster from UDF as a significant factor in their decision.
During a press conference, Mani addressed media reports of alleged discussions with UDF, asserting that such interactions were fictitious. He also clarified there had been no communication from Sonia Gandhi, countering circulating rumors. "Our position remains firm as it has been over the past five years," he affirmed.
In addition to political alliances, Mani outlined the party's stance on social issues and their participation in LDF-led initiatives. He also announced observance plans for K M Mani’s birth anniversary and reiterated their focus on local issues, thus ensuring their continued relevance in the regional political landscape.
