A political storm has erupted as the Congress Party criticized the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for allegedly preventing Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, from speaking at the state assembly polls’ manifesto release.
The short-lived press conference, lasting a mere 26 seconds, drew sharp reactions from Congress leaders who accused the NDA of evading questions concerning their two-decade rule. Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot voiced his discontent, asserting it was a disservice to Bihar and its people.
Despite key alliance leaders attending, only Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary stayed behind to answer questions. The NDA’s manifesto includes ambitious promises like creation of jobs, infrastructure development, and educational reforms, but Congress members have labeled these as deceitful.
