Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed his personal belief that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) should be banned, citing increasing law and order disturbances allegedly linked to BJP-RSS actions.

During a press briefing on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, Kharge referenced Patel's historical criticism of the RSS, especially following Mahatma Gandhi's assassination in 1948. He highlighted how Patel and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi made significant contributions to India, emphasizing their role in national unity.

Furthermore, Kharge stressed that despite attempts to create a rift between Nehru and Patel, both leaders held profound respect for each other, while rebutting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s critique of Congress and its leaders.
