Authorities revealed that the shooting, which took place at a local event, was orchestrated by ex-deputy superintendent Dilsher Singh along with two associates. While only one shot struck Nanda, the aftermath led to his immediate hospitalization at PGIMER in Chandigarh.
The police have initiated a manhunt with checkpoints across the district. In the wake of the incident, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains assured medical oversight for Nanda, affirming his active coordination with healthcare officials.
