NSCN(IM) leader Th Muivah has emphasized the organization's enduring negotiations with the Indian government over the past 28 years. His comments were made during a function in Senapati town.

The 1997 ceasefire between NSCN(IM) and the Center, resulting from over 80 negotiation rounds across 18 years, marked a significant step towards peace after decades of insurgency since 1947.

Despite unresolved demands like a separate Naga flag and constitution, NSCN(IM) persists in talks, as parallel negotiations occur with WC-NNPGs, a coalition of Naga groups. The United Naga Council insists on an 'honourable' political resolution based on the Framework Agreement.
