Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has called upon Prahar Janshakti Party leader Bachchu Kadu to engage in dialogue over farmers' issues. He stated that protests, like the recent tractor rally led by Kadu, inconvenience the public and can be exploited by vested interests.
The tractor protest, starting from Chandurbazar in Amravati and proceeding to Nagpur, was made up of thousands of farmers and PJP workers. Despite Fadnavis's call for discussion, Kadu insists on the government meeting him in Nagpur for negotiations over demands including loan waivers.
Fadnavis emphasized the state's commitment to farmers, citing a Rs 32,000-crore package for cultivators and a formed committee to address loan waiver issues. He reiterated the importance of dialogue over disruption, as the state witnessed significant traffic congestion due to the protest.
