Union Minister Chirag Paswan questions opposition's manifesto promises in Bihar, highlighting budget constraints. As election fever grips Bihar, Union Minister Chirag Paswan has cast doubt on the feasibility of the Mahagathbandhan's anticipated manifesto, dismissing it as inconsequential. Paswan contends that the opposition's promises, including government jobs for every family, are unachievable within Bihar's current budget.
Paswan scrutinized the financial viability of these pledges, stating that fulfilling the promise would necessitate Rs 7-9 lakh crore—far exceeding the state's Rs 3 lakh crore budget. He further questioned the sincerity behind such announcements, suggesting they are made with no expectation of taking power.
Meanwhile, significant political movements loom, with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge gearing up for campaigns. The 243-seat Bihar Assembly election is set for November, with voting across two phases and results expected mid-month.
