Former Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, accompanied by his wife Arzu Rana Deuba, departed for Singapore on Monday night for further medical treatment after being injured in violent Gen Z protests. The couple left from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, confirmed the Nepali Congress (NC) chief secretary.
Deuba, who served five terms as prime minister, suffered significant injuries with 12 stitches to his head and neck, rendering him absent from public life post-incident. Following their rescue by the army, both were initially treated at a military hospital in Kathmandu.
As Deuba announced plans to retire from politics post the upcoming Nepali Congress convention, Purna Bahadur Khadka has been named as interim president.
