NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Monday expressed disapproval over a 'lavni' dance performance at the Ajit Pawar-led faction's Nagpur office. The performance video went viral on social media, drawing attention.
Sule reminded that the party was founded by Sharad Pawar with dedication, questioning if the party was taken from him for such reasons. The Nationalist Congress Party split in 2023 after Ajit Pawar aligned with the Eknath Shinde government, claiming the NCP name and symbol.
In response, NCP explained the 'lavni' was part of a private Diwali Milan event at their office, defended by Nagpur city chief Anil Ahirkar. Meanwhile, Sule highlighted ongoing talks with the Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) regarding local polls, key to the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition strategy.
