Karnataka's Minister M B Patil has called on the Election Commission of India to investigate alleged voter fraud, termed 'vote chori,' after findings from a Special Investigation Team (SIT) indicated attempts to erase over 6,000 votes in the Aland Assembly segment ahead of the 2023 elections.
Patil, overseeing the industries and infrastructure sector, emphasized that Rahul Gandhi's warnings about BJP's alleged misconduct have been substantiated. According to Patil, evidence has emerged, justifying inquiries that the Election Commission previously dismissed as lacking proof.
Investigations revealed payments of Rs 75 to Rs 80 were made per deleted vote in Aland, with six suspects identified. The SIT's findings fueled demands for accountability from both the BJP and the Election Commission. Concerns about widespread voter data manipulation continue to resonate nationally.
