There is growing speculation about a leadership change within Karnataka's ruling Congress, stirred by recent remarks from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son, Yathindra.
Yathindra indicated that Siddaramaiah is nearing the end of his political career, hinting that Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi could be a compatible successor based on ideological alignment.
While Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, a strong contender for the top post, refrained from immediate comment, Jarkiholi asserted his commitment, stating he will bid for the chief minister position in 2028, subject to the party's final decision.
