The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab has strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly engaging in character assassination of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann through the distribution of a falsified video on social media. The AAP claims the video, allegedly created using artificial intelligence, was disseminated to undermine Mann's reputation.
In response to the video's circulation, legal actions have been taken. The Punjab Police registered a case against Canada-based Jagman Samra, accused of posting the video, which is deemed vulgar and intended to incite hatred. A Mohali court has mandated that social media giants Facebook and Google remove the video immediately.
AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang condemned the BJP's actions, asserting that creating AI-generated fake videos to discredit a chief minister is unacceptable. Both Kang and AAP leader Baltej Pannu have warned of stringent legal measures against anyone involved in the conspiracy, highlighting the party’s commitment to protecting its leaders from such defamation attempts.
