Karnataka Deputy CM Challenges BJP for United Front on Irrigation Funds

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has openly challenged state BJP leaders to join him in lobbying the Central government for funds to support crucial irrigation projects. Addressing Congress party and block workers at Panchamukhi, Shivakumar urged BJP leaders to demonstrate their commitment to the state by collaborating with him in Delhi.

He criticized the Center for not releasing the Rs 5,300 crore promised in the budget for irrigation, alleging a lack of concern for farmers. Shivakumar encouraged party workers to prioritize the organization over individuals, highlighting Congress's legacy of implementing welfare schemes, which he claims the BJP has emulated in other states.

Shivakumar highlighted Congress's electoral successes during Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, mentioning Sonia Gandhi's sacrifices and Mallikarjun Kharge's leadership. He also dismissed BJP's allegations of Congress funding in Bihar elections, challenging them to provide evidence.
