Himachal Pays Tribute to Virbhadra Singh as SBI Contributes to 'Aapda Rahat Kosh'

On Tuesday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu marked a significant gesture as he received a donation of Rs 1.55 crore from Krishan Sharma, SBI Chandigarh Circle's Chief General Manager, towards the 'Aapda Rahat Kosh'. The Chief Minister's Office confirmed the generous contribution, aimed at aiding disaster-affected regions. CM Sukhu expressed deep appreciation for this benevolent act and urged the public to contribute generously to the fund.
The event, attended by notable figures such as HP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Nardev Singh Kanwar and SBI Himachal DGM Prabhat Kumar, highlighted the Congress party's historical role in Himachal Pradesh's development. At a prior ceremony at Shimla's Ridge Ground, CM Sukhu lauded his predecessor, Virbhadra Singh, for his pivotal role in transforming infrastructure and services throughout the state.
CM Sukhu recalled Indira Gandhi's crucial decision in 1971, granting full statehood to Himachal Pradesh, underscoring the party's continuous commitment to regional progress. The ceremony included the unveiling of Virbhadra Singh's statue, with AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Chief Minister Sukhu, and other prominent Congress leaders in attendance, paying tribute to Singh's enduring legacy.
