Tragedy at Chandpa: Man Allegedly Commits Suicide in Police Custody

A tragic incident unfolded at Chandpa police station where a 28-year-old man, accused of abducting a minor, allegedly took his own life in custody. According to officials, the man hanged himself late Thursday night inside a toilet, prompting immediate suspensions of the station head and a duty clerk for negligence.
The accused, Chandrapal from Ghaziabad, was taken into custody after police successfully rescued a 16-year-old girl whom he allegedly lured away. The girl's father had filed a missing persons report on April 18, three days after her disappearance. The girl has been relocated to a 'One Stop Centre' for comprehensive support.
Police revealed that the girl met the accused approximately two years ago on Instagram, and their online contact eventually developed into a relationship. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic event while emphasizing their commitment to ensuring the safety and rights of women and girls in distress.
