London Arson Attacks Linked to Jewish Community Under Investigation
British counter-terrorism police have arrested eight individuals in connection with suspected arson attacks in London, targeting sites linked to the Jewish community. These arrests are part of an ongoing investigation amid rising threats since the Israel-Gaza conflict's inception in October 2023, but no formal connection to Iranian proxies has been confirmed.
In a significant development, British counter-terrorism police announced the arrest of eight individuals linked to several suspected arson attacks in London, with targets reportedly connected to the Jewish community.
The arrests were made over the span of 48 hours, amid an intensified probe into an alleged arson conspiracy. While authorities have refrained from revealing specific venues, they confirmed the suspected plot revolved around Jewish-linked sites. This comes as part of a broader wave of threats and criminal actions triggered by the Israel-Gaza war outbreak in October 2023.
Despite the pro-Iranian group Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiyya claiming responsibility for recent attacks, police have not linked the group to these latest arrests. The investigation, including several arrests in different regions around London, is ongoing, with substantial security concerns prevailing in the UK.
