A tragic accident occurred on Monday in the Ranibagh area when a five-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a bus, police reported. The incident took place on the Bhimtal-Haldwani road as the child was crossing, ultimately leading to her immediate death.

Eyewitnesses alleged that the bus driver failed to halt the vehicle promptly, resulting in the child being dragged some distance. While two other children accompanying her were unharmed, the local community expressed their anger by pelting the bus with stones, breaking its windows.
