Vice President JD Vance remains in the United States, not having departed for Pakistan, as the potential for a second round of negotiations with Iran remains uncertain, a source informed Reuters.

President Donald Trump announced plans to send a U.S. delegation to Pakistan for further discussions before a ceasefire is due to expire. A senior Iranian official commented that Iran is contemplating participation in the peace talks, although a final decision has yet to be reached.

The New York Post previously indicated that Vance, along with White House envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, was heading to the discussions. These key figures were active in the initial negotiations aimed at ceasing hostilities initiated by U.S.-Israeli actions against Iran on February 28.
