Continuous flow of funds

The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005 continues to function without any disruption, ensuring wage employment for rural households.
Key highlights include:

No change in existing wage entitlements or employment guarantees

PMAY-G Strengthened to Tackle Supply Chain Risks
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), the government aims to construct 4.95 crore rural houses by March 2029.
To counter potential disruptions in construction material supply and price volatility, the Ministry has initiated:
-
Accelerated Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) releases
-
Real-time monitoring via AwaasSoft
-
Geo-tagging of houses for transparency and tracking
-
Promotion of material banks to ensure availability of construction inputs
Additionally, convergence with schemes providing sanitation, drinking water, LPG, and electricity is being strengthened to ensure holistic delivery of housing benefits.
Rural Roads Programme Remains Largely Insulated
The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) continues to progress steadily, with most projects either tendered or under execution.
Key updates:
-
Works under PMGSY-I, II, III, and LWE projects are ongoing
-
Under PMGSY-IV, approximately 12,100 km of roads have been sanctioned and are at the tendering stage
-
Limited exposure to global volatility due to low share of bitumen costs in overall project expenditure
Future projects will incorporate updated cost estimates to reflect prevailing market conditions, ensuring financial viability and timely completion.
Focus on Agriculture and Water Resource Resilience
To strengthen long-term rural sustainability, the Department of Land Resources is implementing WDC-PMKSY 2.0 across 50 lakh hectares, focusing on:
-
Water conservation
-
Agricultural productivity enhancement
-
Horticulture development
-
Pasture and land restoration
The Ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and address emerging challenges.
Ensuring Stability Amid Global Volatility

By strengthening financial flows, leveraging technology for monitoring, and promoting structural resilience, the government aims to protect rural households from potential economic disruptions.
As global uncertainties persist, these measures are expected to play a crucial role in sustaining rural growth, employment, and infrastructure development across the country.
