Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha intensified his anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir by spearheading a padyatra in Rajouri. During the first five days of the 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan', launched on April 11, over 45 FIRs were filed, and 63 smugglers arrested, showcasing the initiative's impact.
Emphasizing Rajouri's strategic importance due to its border location, Sinha noted heightened efforts to combat drug smuggling. He underlined that the equitable fight against narcotics extends beyond the borders and demands societal cooperation. 'Addiction injures the social fabric', Sinha stated, condemning external attempts to destabilize the region through narcotics.
The campaign integrates awareness initiatives, aiming to reach young minds before addiction does, and comprehensive rehabilitation focusing on detoxification and societal reintegration. Sinha urged community groups and NGOs to join in the eradication efforts, promoting progress audits and shutting down fraudulent centers.
