The Supreme Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to Venu Gopalakrishnan, a software firm owner accused of serious charges, including sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. The bench directed Gopalakrishnan to fully cooperate with the investigation, highlighting the unique circumstances of the case under Section 482 of BNSS.
Conditions imposed with the bail include refraining from influencing witnesses or tampering with evidence. Non-compliance could result in the cancellation of the bail. Meanwhile, past decisions by the Kerala High Court described the gravity of the accusations and Gopalakrishnan's potential to interfere with the judicial process.
This case traces back to allegations in July, where the victim claimed she and her husband were framed by Gopalakrishnan. Subsequent investigations have led to new charges against him and three employees, as police delve deeper into the controversy.
