The arrest of Ravindra Garg, a 51-year-old resident of Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, has thrown light on a significant property fraud in central Delhi. Garg, who was apprehended last week, allegedly deceived a visually impaired woman in a property leasing scam.
Authorities discovered that the fraud spanned nearly Rs 2 crore, affecting multiple victims. The scam involved Garg offering a property in Karol Bagh for lease, despite the property being repossessed by a finance company due to a loan default. This deceit was uncovered when the woman attempted to take possession of the property.
Ravindra Garg, already a declared offender in another case, frequently changed SIM cards and locations to evade capture. Eventually traced to Nangal Devat village, where he was working as a taxi driver, he was arrested. Investigations continue to locate the defrauded funds.
