Announcing a major success in law enforcement, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma disclosed on Thursday a significant 18.77% reduction in the crime rate of Rajasthan over the last two years. He announced at the Rajasthan Police Foundation Day that murder, robbery, and crimes against women have seen substantial declines.

The Chief Minister attributed these achievements to a rigorous 'zero-tolerance' policy towards crime and corruption. Specifically, murder cases dropped by 25.68%, while dacoity and robbery saw declines of 47.26% and 50.75%, respectively. The state has also taken steps to combat crimes against women, achieving a reduction of almost 10%.

He praised the police force's dedication and discipline, announcing further modernization efforts including anti-narcotics and anti-gangster units to tackle organized crime. Sharma also mentioned new cyber help desks and community policing initiatives geared towards emerging challenges like cybercrime.
