The Lok Sabha's composition is set for a major change with its strength increasing to 815 members, as announced by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal. A significant 272 seats will be reserved for women, aligning with a new legislative initiative aiming to establish a 33% women's quota.

This landmark decision seeks to enhance female representation in the House while ensuring no adverse effects on male representation or state quotas. Meghwal emphasized the fair distribution of new seats, ensuring that no segment suffers an imposition due to this adjustment.

Additionally, the new law will guarantee reservation for women from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes within the allocated women's quota, bolstering inclusivity in political representation.
