Online IPL Betting Racket Busted in Goa

Police in North Goa have dismantled an online betting operation involving six individuals from Gujarat, Rajasthan, and West Bengal. The arrests took place during a raid in Sangolda village late on April 15 and early April 16.

The suspects are accused of running an IPL betting racket using mobile applications such as 'MG Lion' and 'Kabook 1', with the transactions conducted through multiple mobile phones. The Cyber Crime police have named the accused, who hail from various regions in India.

Authorities seized substantial evidence including laptops, cash, ATM cards, and mobile devices, all valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh. The accused are alleged to have employed fake identities and mule accounts to manage the betting proceeds. The operation was led by Superintendent of Police Raju Raut Desai and Inspector Deepak Pednekar.
