India has set an ambitious and forward-looking global health agenda as it chaired the First BRICS Health Working Group (HWG) Meeting for 2026, bringing together senior officials and experts from nine member countries to strengthen cooperation in public health, innovation, and healthcare resilience.
The meeting, hosted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, marked the beginning of India's BRICS Chairship under the overarching theme: "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability."
