Rajya Sabha's New Vice-Chairmanship: Key Changes Announced

In a significant reshuffle, Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan has reconstituted the panel of vice-chairpersons. The revamped committee includes notable members such as Dinesh Sharma, Phangnon Konyak, and M Thambi Durai.
Joining them are Sasmit Patra, Phulo Devi Netam, and Ghanshyam Tewari, as per the official notice effective from April 15, 2026. This strategic move aligns with the upcoming election to fill the vacant deputy chairman post.
The election is scheduled for April 17, with the former deputy chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh expected to return. Harivansh, having served two terms, has been nominated again to the Rajya Sabha by President Droupadi Murmu, and he's already taken the oath.
