The Supreme Court dealt with a pivotal religious freedom case concerning the Travancore Devaswom Board's management at Kerala's historic Sabarimala Temple. The board maintained that religious practices are intrinsic to their denomination and beyond judicial scrutiny.
In a legal blow to Congress leader Pawan Khera, the Supreme Court stayed the Telangana High Court's grant of one-week transit anticipatory bail. Khera is embroiled in a case related to his criticism of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife.
Furthermore, the Supreme Court advised a petitioner to approach the Madras High Court regarding the preventive detention under Tamil Nadu's Goondas Act of YouTuber and journalist Savukku Shankar.
