In a significant boost to India's naval prowess, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the indigenously built stealth frigate Taragiri in Visakhapatnam on Friday. The ceremony emphasized the strategic importance of India's eastern seaboard and its evolving maritime defenses.
Taragiri, the fourth platform under Project 17A, showcases India's defense manufacturing capabilities with over 75% indigenous content. Built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, the frigate features advanced stealth operations and improved survivability.
Equipped with state-of-the-art weapon systems, Taragiri excels in both combat roles and humanitarian missions, reinforcing the Indian Navy's commitment to maintaining a strong and credible maritime defense force.
