Daring Arrest: Gang Behind Electricity Wire Thefts Nabbed in Ballia

In a dramatic turn of events, seven individuals allegedly linked to a notorious gang involved in electricity wire theft were apprehended after an intense police encounter in Ballia district. Authorities reported that the confrontation left two suspects injured and led to significant evidence recovery.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Dinesh Kumar Shukla, a joint operation by Sahatwar and Bansdih police unfolded during a routine vehicle check near Akbarpur village. Police intercepted two approaching vehicles, leading to a chase when the suspects attempted to escape.
The suspected gang members reportedly opened fire on the police, prompting a self-defensive retaliation that resulted in the arrest of Tinku Kumar Shah, Shamim Ansari, and five others. Crucial evidence, including stolen electric cables and firearms, was seized, confirming their involvement in multiple thefts.
