The state of Uttarakhand has initiated 'Operation Prahar' in a bid to curb the escalating crime rate in its capital, Dehradun. This follows the recent tragic killing of retired brigadier Mukesh Joshi during a walk on Mussoorie Road.
Concerns about public safety have risen sharply, prompting officials to adopt a tough stance against illegal activities and night-time crimes. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and state DGP Deepam Seth are leading this initiative to restore order.
The operation will focus on increasing police presence, with directives for detailed monitoring and strategic responses to crime, especially in hotspots. Measures include rigorous checks on bars, pubs, and intensified verification of residents to ensure public safety.
